Here's a simple dog cake recipe with few ingredients, perfect for celebrating your dog with something extra delicious.
Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1/2 banana
- 0.7 dl water
- 2 tbsp coconut flour
- 1 dl potato starch
- 2 tsp baking powder
Optional topping:
- Greek yogurt (choose lactose-free if your dog is sensitive)
- A little honey
- Blueberries, pumpkin, or peanut butter without xylitol
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease a small mold, about 12 cm (4.7 inches), with coconut oil.
- Mash the banana and mix with egg and water.
- Stir in the coconut flour and let the batter sit for about 5 minutes for the flour to swell.
- Mix potato starch and baking powder in a separate bowl and stir into the batter.
- Pour the batter into the mold and decorate with berries if desired.
- Bake in the middle of the oven for about 20 minutes.
- Let the cake cool completely before serving.
Decoration Tips
- Mix Greek yogurt with a little honey and use as frosting.
- Color the frosting with natural ingredients like blueberries or spirulina.
- Top with your dog's favorite treats or small dog biscuits.
Storage
- Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Can be frozen without topping.
- Thaw in the refrigerator before serving.
Good to know
Some dogs are sensitive to lactose – consider using lactose-free yogurt if your dog has a sensitive stomach. Always give treats in moderation and adjust according to your dog's size.
